On the weekend of April 20 I’m heading to a Burning man-inspired event in Borrego Springs called “Fools Paradise.” It is the same location as the 2008 SD BM Decompression (where this video was shot)

Lots of my Burning Man crew will be there. Maybe you want to camp there, too?

I spent the weekend in Borrego Springs (The adoption place of the Hugmobile!) for the San Diego Decompression event. The weather was ALOT like Burning Man. Hot, with lots of dust and wind.

The event was way out in the gorgeous desert and filled with awesome people.

The other decoms I’ve been to are like playa parties, the SD one is like playa camping and living.

On the way home we noticed lots of smoke in the air. Turns out we were lucky we left when we did. Many of the areas around the event look like they are fighting serious fires. Even after we got home, the entire afternoon was thick with smoke.

It was an awesome weekend…but it is nice to be home and showered.

It was a year of less dancing and more tears. Of love and magic and growth. It was a year of intense gratitude and hope. And it was the year I said goodbye to Grandpa.

tomorrow I’m gonna post my 2007 Burning Man video. It is 10 min and a tear jerker. I’m really proud of it.

But until then, here’s my last BM video that I am also very proud of. (and a picture of me from my first burn)

I plan to have more words & video up soon. As well as more info on the Hug Tour in October and an uber special HugNation on tuesday. Thanks for the patience….The transition has not been easy.
