  1. The difference from the default world and Burning man is the unselfish gifts we receive, be it a hug, a hand in help or an object. I am trying to implement the BM way(hugs, smile and help) in my own life in the default world, what I have noticed is that people seem scared, creeped out or sometimes surprised that someone would want to help them, or care how they are.
People are so scared of each other that they shut the entire world out and put on their mental safety bubbles, well, I am determined to make people in my area smile and accept it, we are family and should live, love and be a functional community. I am making it my goal this month to get to know all my neighbors, thats 20 houses of people that dont even wave hello to another, this is wrong and I need fix this.

  2. YAY!

I think that is why the “free hugs” thing became quite a phenomenon.

And continues to challenge people to give more.

And helps people understand that a gift can be non-physical.

GOOD FOR YOU, re: Neighbors! I made a point to meet many of mine and am SO glad I did. Even though I rarely see them, it makes the divisions seem less harsh.

  3. Your podcasts are good to listen to several times. First time through I really pay attention. Then I’ve noticed that I like to play them in the background while I’m working in another window. You have a pleasant speaking voice, and then suddenly pearls of wisdom or lines of inquiry will pop up.

I took a weekly meditation class a few years back. The teacher gave us homework to practice wishing people well in our minds when we are with them (Metta practice). It involves thinking phrases like: “May you be well, May you be happy & healthy, etc”. At the time I was a department store salesman. I noticed that it was hard to imagine the phrases while I was trying to listen to a customer. I found that it worked instead to imagine myself with my arm around him/her like a pal while listening.

    I really like your channel.
