90 secs – Huggable Monster Remix

It wasn’t a bad day.
Nothing that happened was particularly bad.
But I did have a bad attitude.
Or I should say, My inner “Bad Attitude Dragon” was particularly feisty.
I had to remind myself all day to refocus and remember what was important.
Not a work setback.
Not a situation with the storage unit.
Not zits. (Or picking at them)
Not fictional fears about something that has yet to happen.
What is important is all the love I know to be a part of my life…RIGHT NOW.
My amazing girlfriend Andi.
My parents. My brother & his growing family.
My friends and campmates.
My digital family.

Ahhhh. That is better.
That is why I watched a video of my nephew running around in his Halloween costume 8 times today.
And then, to fully secure a more grounded headspace, I spent my evening re-mixing the video.
Today, “Huggable Monster” was my digital Prozac.

I founded the "Digital Intimacy Institute?"

I was just reading what I wrote on www.digitalintimacy.com. It seems such a long time ago…but what I wrote then seems more important than ever:

Founder’s note (written right after 9/11, when The Digital Intimacy Institute was born):

It is a time of grief in the world, but it is also a time of hope.

We need to make sure that the love we feel towards our neighbors doesn’t diminish as 9-11 fades into history. Lets maintain these feelings of connectedness. Lets make them grow!

War time breeds fear, separation, and anger. But we do not have to let those “bad” parts of humanity take over. We can embrace the “good” parts that we saw from New Yorkers and our neighbors in the wake of tragedy. Lets work hard not to forget what we are capable when we let the gold inside us shine.

The American flags and nationalism are AWESOME. But there is bigger, world-wide camaraderie that needs to be fostered.

People all around the world would MUCH rather hug you than hurt you. In these times, it is important to be reminded of that..

The Internet is begging us to use it to connect this global community of compassion.

Radio Interview

I’ll be honest, when I tuned into the first hour of the SNAP OUT! radio show, i thought I had made a big mistake. The topics and tone of SNAP OUT! Radio are both very different from my daily conversations. (I joked in the chatroom that I was practicing saying “Muthaf*cka!” while I was waiting to go on.)

But the hosts, callers, and conversation were delightful. Here is the full interview:
